I wouldn’t buy a piano unless it were polished ebony… it’s a fetish for me. Gotta have it.

Thank you Miss Akki for this beautiful and sensitive piece of music. It’s played with so much delicacy: delicious!

I see on the Yamaha site that these have been discontinued in the US market. Pity.

i can highly recommend the new 300 Series … the CLP 380 sounds almost better than the 280 … 5 samples per key and triamp-system :) the speakers are great

What would be a good piano for a beginner to practice on? I live in a 4th floor walk up.

hey, i’m planning to buy a CLP240 or a CLP280.. i was wondering though, how long does it usually last? 10-15 years? sorry if i may sound ignorant. :) btw, i’m not really good in playing the piano. so, if u could suggest one(240 or 280) for me, i would really appreciate it! tnx!:)

Hi, the CLP280 is pretty much on the higher end in terms of features and price. If you are starting on piano I think a CLP 240 is good enough. These digital pianos would last for quite a while. The only problems are that technology progresses so fast that the models would be out of date within 2-3 years when newer models come out. I would still prefer the touch and feel of a true acoustic piano for serious practicing.

I own a CLP-270 and I am very happy with it, I tested the 280 and sure it have wooden keys but I felt it to be a little to hard for my taste. The sound is really awesome in the 270 and 280. The one saying the sound is cold must not have tried it to much, there are alot of settings to be made and their are 6 levels of Brightness/mellow and also 4 different piano sounds.

Alot of feeling can be put into it with the use of reverb, but not overdo it because the sound get’s muddy then.

Good Luck

@cody1800212 : Real pianos require expensive maintenance and tuning.

@DietBroccoli not nessacerly some pianos are free and there uesly anteqk id prefur a real pne

DietBroccoli writes:

@cody1800212 : …No, the maintenance and tuning of a piano is not free. Also, I would like you to look up the definition of the word “coherent” as it relates to a person.

cody1800212 writes:

@DietBroccoli coherent- Physics Of, relating to, or having waves with similar direction, amplitude, and phase that are capable of exhibiting interference.

DietBroccoli writes:

@cody1800212 : Maybe you should also look up the definition of “literate.” I clearly specified “as it relates to a person.”

Coherent (of a person) : able to speak clearly and logically.

@cody1800212 : Oh yes. How could I have missed it. Truly you have a dizzying intellect. Your command of the English language is unmatched by any other. How silly of me to think you can’t read or W-R-I-T-E. Honestly, the fact that the only time you use punctuation is when you copy and paste from a dictionary makes you incomparably more coherent.

You are truly superior to myself. I wish my ability to read without knowing what was just said was as developed as yours.
